Doctor Liang Popular Science of Traditional Chinese Medicine Department: It''s Time to Play "Decoration Tone"

I, Dr. Liang, have been working in the Traditional Chinese Medicine Department for many years. Recently, I felt like I was holding a puffy little rabbit in my thoughts and couldn''t be at peace. Why? It is not because we are the Traditional Chinese Medicine Department of the road, the more I feel that there is something wrong.

Plain and Direct: The Dilemma of Popular Science of Traditional Chinese Medicine Department

In the past, I engaged in the Traditional Chinese Medicine Department, the style, like plain and straight talk, no waves. I myself felt that when I explained my knowledge of Chinese medicine clearly, readers did not buy it, and the reading was a miserable one, like a cold market in winter. It''s like I cooked a pot of nourishing Chinese herbal soup carefully, thinking it would fill everyone''s bodies, but everyone looked at it, sniffed it, and walked away frowning.

And I thought, what''s the problem? Then I slapped my forehead and realized that popular science is like singing, and it is not only necessary to have a main melody, but also to have "decorative sounds" to add beauty. You think, who wants to listen to a song if it keeps going plainly? It must not be like a hypnotic song that makes people drowsy. The Traditional Chinese Medicine Department is the same, without those vivid metaphors, interesting examples, humorous language, like a dish without seasoning, eat bland.

Data speaks: an uncomplicated account of "cold encounters"

I went specifically to look up the data, which surprised me. My straight-line science articles have an average of just a few readings and a pitiful few likes, which is a tiny comparison to popular articles. Look at those popular science content that is lively and innovative, and the number of readings is often tens of thousands, and the likes are thousands of times. It was like a race. My side was still walking slowly while the others were galloping away on their fast horses.

Once, I wrote an article on traditional Chinese medicine and therapeutics. In the previous flat-line style, I wrote out the efficacy and consumption methods of various ingredients. As a result, after it was posted, it was like a small stone that was thrown into the sea without even splashing. Then I took a different approach and started with an interesting story:“Then there was an old Zhang who ate a lot of fish and meat all day long, and ended up eating himself into a big fat man and getting high blood pressure. Then, he listened to the advice of traditional Chinese medicine and began to eat a particular herbal remedy. Guess what? The weight has slowly fallen and the blood pressure has stabilized.”Just such a small story immediately attracted everyone''s attention, and the number of readings and likes of the article inched up.

Explanations: Popular Insights from the Wisdom of Ancient Peoples

In fact, our ancestors already knew this. When the ancient people wrote essays, they were very concerned with "writing like looking at a mountain, not like a flat one," like painting, there must be ups and downs, and there must be levels. If you look at the Red Chamber Dream, the characters are vivid and the plot goes up and down. At one time, Jia Baoyu and Lin Daiyu are the lovers, and at the other time, Wang Xifeng''s powers are exhausted. It makes you very enthralled to watch. If this book were to be as straightforward as the popular science articles I''ve written before, would so many people still like it?

There is also the "Journey to the West," Sun Wukong a somersault can be 108 thousand, but it is difficult to go through ninety-nine eighty-one to obtain the true scriptures. On this road, there were demons and monsters blocking the way, and there was the help of the goddess Buddha, and the story was a wonderful one. What would be the point of letting the Monkey King fly directly to the West while carrying the monk? The same is true of the Traditional Chinese Medicine Department. We can''t just shove the knowledge to the readers. We have to guide them to understand and explore step by step like telling a story.

Making Traditional Chinese Medicine Department Popular Science "Alive"

How to give the Traditional Chinese Medicine Department with a "decorative tone"? I think humorous language is a key. For example, when I speak of the "five branches" doctrine of Chinese medicine, I can say this: "The five branches are like five brothers with different personalities. Garden balsam seed, just like an impatient boy, Fengfengfenghuohuo; Fire, like a great girl who is passionate, goes everywhere with a glow of heat; Like an honest old peasant, the earth was steady. Kim was like a cold hero, sharp enough. The water, like a gentle little fairy, hydrates without sound. These five brothers check each other and help each other to maintain the balance of the human body.”Isn''t it more interesting than directly saying "wood generating fire, fire generating earth, earth generating metal, metal generating water, water wood"?

For example, when I talk about acupuncture in Chinese medicine, I can say:“Acupuncture is like installing precise little switches on the body. Whenever you are uncomfortable, you find the right switch and press it. Hey, the pain slipped away like a magic trick.”Such a metaphor, which is both graphic and funny, allows the reader to learn about traditional Chinese medicine in a relaxed and pleasant atmosphere.

Emotional Empathy: Bringing Closer to Your Reader

In addition to humor, the reader must be emotionally resonant. When I write articles about Traditional Chinese Medicine Department, I often use examples from everyday life to make readers feel that these knowledge is closely related to their own lives. For example, when I talk about how to prevent a cold, I can say:“You''ve all had the experience of catching a cold as soon as the season changes. It felt like a little monster lived in it, messing around. In fact, as long as we pay attention to dressing and eating more immune-boosting foods during the day, it is like putting a strong armor on our bodies, and this little monster can do nothing about us.”Such a statement would bring readers closer to them by giving them a sense that I was genuinely thinking about them.

Suspense Setting: Stimulating Reader''s Curiosity

Setting suspense is also a good way to do it. When I was writing an article on traditional Chinese medicine for insomnia, I began with this sentence:“Do you know that? There is a magical Chinese medical method that can put an end to the trouble of insomnia without taking a pill or taking an injection. A lot of people who have tried it are amazed and say: ''This is amazing!’”Once written like this, the reader''s curiosity is hooked up, and they will surely be eager to read on to see what this magical Chinese medical law really is.

Make Traditional Chinese Medicine Department more Scientific Popularization

Of course, we do Traditional Chinese Medicine Department, not just for the pursuit of reading and likes, more important is to convey value. Chinese medicine is a treasure of the Chinese nation, which contains a wealth of wisdom and experience. We need to make science popular so that more people can learn about traditional Chinese medicine, trust traditional Chinese Medicine, and use traditional Chinesemedicine. For example, when I talk about the concept of health preservation in traditional Chinese medicine, I will emphasize the idea of "preventive treatment of disease." I tell you that you should pay attention to preventive treatment and conditioning when you are not sick, so that you can have a good body. It''s like building a house. Only when the foundations are secured can the house be strong and durable.

Prospect: Playing the New Movement of Popular Science of Traditional Chinese Medicine Department

Now, it is time to adjust the writing style of Dr. Liang''s Traditional Chinese Medicine Department. I want to be like a skilled musician, with vivid language, interesting stories, humorous metaphor, for the Traditional Chinese Medicine Department played a wonderful music. I believe that as long as we work hard and spread the knowledge of traditional Chinese medicine in innovative ways, we will surely attract more people to pay attention to and love traditional Chinese Medicine.

Let us work together to make this shining pearl of traditional Chinese medicine shine even brighter on the stage of the new era! Let more people benefit from traditional Chinese medicine and have a healthy and beautiful life because of traditional Chinese Medicine! This is the mission and responsibility of Doctor Liang of Traditional Chinese Medicine Department!
