The responsibility of traditional Chinese medicine: longevity is the ultimate goal

In the vast medical cosmos, traditional Chinese medicine is like a shining pearl that has persevered for thousands of years, safeguarding the health of the Chinese nation and all mankind with its unique theoretical system and treatment methods. However, when we talk about the responsibility of traditional Chinese medicine, we are often limited to the treatment of diseases, as if the value of traditional medicine is simply to "cure diseases and save people." Rather, the responsibility of Chinese medicine extends far beyond that, and their mission is even more profound and ambitious - to lead people to health and the ultimate goal of longevity.

Dr. Liang Shijie''s view that "the main responsibility of traditional Chinese medicine is to prolong people''s longevity" is like a current that washes away our traditional understanding of traditional medicine. In his view, traditional Chinese medicine is not only a science of treating diseases, but also a attitude to life, a wisdom to pursue physical and mental harmony, prevent disease, and delay aging.

In this fast-paced, high-stress era, most people are in a sub-state of health, illness seems to have become the norm of life. However, traditional Chinese medicine tells us that true health is not to wait until a disease arrives, but to prevent the disease before it has started, by conditioning the body and mind. This is the key concept of "preventive treatment of disease" and the great contribution of TCM to the cause of human beings.

Imagine if a person could adjust their eating habits, maintain moderate exercise, and focus on emotional management under the guidance of traditional Chinese medicine, what would happen to his body? Sickness may take a detour, and health will become the norm in his life. This is precisely the "prevention of disease before it occurs" pursued by traditional Chinese medicine and the ultimate responsibility of Chinese medicine, as stressed by Dr. Liang Shijie.

However, reality is always challenging. In this era of information explosion, people are often confused by all kinds of health rumors, and the understanding of traditional Chinese medicine is still superficial. Many people think of traditional Chinese medicine only when they are sick, and in normal times, traditional Chinese Medicine seems to have nothing to do with them. This is one of the difficulties that TCM is facing - how to make more people accept the concept of TCM and become the early stage of "preventive treatment of disease"?

Dr. Leung Shijie knows this well, and he emphasizes that Chinese physicians must not only possess excellent medical skills, but also become health communicators. They should use vivid examples and in-depth explanations to let people understand the wisdom of traditional Chinese medicine and feel the charm of traditional medicine. For example, people''s interest in traditional Chinese medicine can be piqued by telling stories of how ancient famous healers could cure stubborn diseases through food therapy, acupuncture and other methods. Or by sharing their own personal experiences or those of their patients, let people see the remarkable effects of traditional Chinese medicine in preventing disease and slowing down aging.

Of course, this process did not happen overnight. It requires the patience, persistence and wisdom of the medical practitioner, and it requires the joint efforts of the whole society. Only when the concept of traditional Chinese medicine becomes a part of people''s lifestyle can we truly achieve the ultimate goal of being sick.

In the process, we may encounter misunderstandings, doubts and even ridicule. But please remember that traditional Chinese medicine is a treasure of the Chinese nation and the crystallization of wisdom over thousands of years. It will stand the test of time and will certainly make a greater contribution to human health. Let us go hand in hand to promote the progress of traditional Chinese medicine, so that the concept of "preventive treatment of disease" illuminates everyone''s road to health!

Under the guidance of traditional Chinese medicine, may we all have a strong body, a happy mood and enjoy every beautiful moment of life. Because, in the world of traditional Chinese medicine, health is not a luxury, but a valuable asset that everyone can have.
