According to relevant statistics, in the past few decades, research on Chinese medicine using traditional methods has achieved some results, but the success rate has been relatively low. In the study of Chinese medicine compounds, because Chinese medicine combinations often contain multiple components, and each component may act on multiple targets, the mechanism of action is intricate, making the research process difficult. Many studies, after spending a lot of human, material and financial resources, still cannot clearly reveal the holistic mechanism of traditional Chinese medicine compounds to treat diseases, which undoubtedly cast a thick shadow on the modernization process of traditional medicine.


Network Pharmacology: a bright dawn in an emerging discipline


In the midst of this confusion and dilemma, an emerging discipline - network pharmacology - lit up the long journey of modern Chinese medicine research like a dawn dawn. Network pharmacology, which combines the knowledge of systems biology, multidirectional pharmacology, computational biology, and network science, is like a skilled craftsman who deftly constructs complex networks of interactions between drugs-target-diseases. The holistic view of traditional Chinese medicine emphasizes that the human body is an organic whole, that the occurrence of diseases is the result of the interaction between the internal environment and the external environment of the human body, and that the treatment of diseases requires a holistic approach and comprehensive consideration of various factors. The network of "drug-target-disease" interactions constructed by network pharmacology reveals the complex relationship between drugs, targets and diseases from a systematic level, which is consistent with the holistic view of Chinese medicine.

He studied under Chen Yong, a renowned senior traditional Chinese medicine practitioner at the Hepatology Department of Beijing Hospital Affiliated to Capital Medical University. Over the years, he gained great respect and acquired genuine expertise. He specializes in using the “Shang Tang Classic Classification Therapy” and combining specific treatments for specific diseases with the “Jiao Shu-de Academic Thought” and the “Guan You-bo Ten-Principle Diagnosis” approach to treat complex and rare conditions. Currently, he serves as a researcher at the Beijing Shu-de-Tang Traditional Chinese Medicine Research Institute and a researcher at the Jia Shu-de Disciples (Chen Yong) Heritage Workstation of the Beijing New 3+3 Project for the Succession of Traditional Chinese Medicine.
